Mr. Vegas Rocks Sting Night Club - Insomnia for St. Vincent

Trinidadian fans are still talking about the marquis performance that Mr. Vegas delivered at the Sting nightclub last week Saturday. Mr. Vegas took his set old school with a couple of Bob Marley and Dennis Brown songs before cranking up the energy with his early hits such as Nike Air, then finally going full throttle with Raging Bull, Tek Weh Yuself and Hot Wuk as he had the 700 strong audience partying up a storm.

Dancer Mystic showed up mid-performance to show the Trinis how to do the latest Jamaican dance move, the Sassa Step, but the Trinidadian males made woeful attempts at learning the dance, and provided comic relief for the audience. Mr. Vegas closed his entertaining set strongly with his runaway hit, I Am Blessed, marking a successful night for the Jamaica and Barbadian-based promotions company, Big Links Promotions. Earlier, Rastafarian firebrand Lutan Fyah had opened the show with a blazing set full of hits such as Save The Juveniles and St. Jago De La Vega.

On the previous night, Vegas had performed at a welcome party held in his honour in Arima at the Fifth Element club. Over 200 people turned up for a whirlwind 15 minute performance from one of Jamaica's most consummate entertainers. Mystic also teamed up with a girl to buss the place with a series of sexy dance moves that moved male members of the audience to throw US dollars onstage to keep them dancing. It was the Trini version of a dance 'pull up' as they paid the girls to repeat the ultra-sexy dance moves while they railed and shouted their approval.

Mr. Vegas heads to St. Vincent this weekend to perform at a concert called Insomnia.
