New York EMI making moves on the local & International music scene

This company is a lifelong dream of its President Wayne A Gordon and, who hails from the parish of Manchester (Jamaica). He started out in the music business as a promoter in the early 90's when he moved to live in the Jones Town area of Kingston. While living in Kingston he promoted several dances with the popular "No Retreat, No Surrender Promotions" featuring sound-systems such as Stone Love and Metro Media. Over the years New York Entertainment has successfully staged various events both in New York and Jamaica, working with sound-systems such as Stone Love, Metro Media, Bass Odyssey, Young Hawk, Top Secret, Black Kat among others. The most recent event staged by the company was, the annual Unity Is Strength family fun day and stage show, on April 1, 2006 in Comfort, Manchester.

The company also owns and operates a subsidiary called New York Entertainment Movement Records. Both entities are operated by Mr. Gordon and his wife Lorna Channer-Gordon who came on board in the capacity of Vice President in 2006. She brings to the team 14 years of valuable marketing experience garnered while working with companies in Jamaica such as Courts Jamaica Ltd, Jamaica Observer, Jamaica Lottery and Jamaica Cultural Development Commission.

The label is growing from strength to strength while working with established and new talents. The first project for New York Entertainment Movement Records was the Controversy rhythm in 2006 which featured songs from several popular acts such as "Unity Is Strength" Sizzla, "Long Run" - Luciano, "Gang Warfare" - Richie Spice, "Take It with A Smile" - Chuck Fenda & "Controversy" in 2006.

The company is getting ready to release another project the Changes rhythm which features tracks from Jah Mason - "Dem She Dat Dem Wicked", A.S.K. - "To Live & Strive in JA", Turbulance - "It's Not Safe", Shaneo - "Bad Times & Good Times", Bahu - "Multi Talent", King Shadrock - "Carnal Mind", Ras Propaly - "Got To Be Myself", Natural Black - "Step Away From Crime", Ricky Sprakett - "No One Cares", Antonio West - "Letter On My Pillow", Kashu - "Do What Yu What You Wanna Do" & Stikky - "Suddenly". All of these songs will be released soon through Energy Beat Distribution. Also in the works is a major event that will be staged on July 5th, in Westmoreland at the popular Ricky's Motors Complex.
